Assign corrective training after a safety flag
Set up a learning path that is assigned automatically when a rider is flagged for unsafe driving, flag a rider, and track the outcome.
On this page
1. Set up the corrective path (once)#
Make sure the course exists and is published, for example a safe riding refresher.
It can be a course riders already took elsewhere, such as in onboarding: corrective training always has to be done again (see Riders take the course again). Creating the path needs an admin account.
Go to Learning paths. In New learning path:
- Name: “Safe riding refresher”.
- Who gets it: When a rider gets a flag.
- Flag that triggers it: Unsafe driving report.
- Days to complete: for example 7.
Select Create path.
On the path page, add the course with Add course.
In Rules, optionally limit markets or vehicle types. Leave them empty for everyone.
Tick Active: assign it to riders automatically and select Save path.
Nobody is assigned when you save: the path waits for the next flag of that type. Earlier flags don’t count.
2. Flag the rider#
Go to Riders, search for the rider and open their page.
In Flag an issue, choose Unsafe driving report.
Add a Note, for example “Riding on the pavement, reported by ops on 16 Sep”.
Keep Send the rider the course link ticked.
Select Add flag.
The message should say the flag was recorded and 1 corrective training path was assigned. If nothing was assigned, the message gives the reason: no active path for this flag type (check step 1), the rider doesn’t match the path’s filters, the rider is inactive, or the rider already has that corrective training open.
3. Make sure the rider gets the link#
- If the message says the course link was sent on WhatsApp, you’re done.
- If it says the link wasn’t sent automatically (WhatsApp isn’t connected, the rider has no phone number, or sending failed), send it yourself:
On the same rider page, go to Send course link.
Choose the corrective course in the list, so the link opens it directly.
Select Create link, then Send on WhatsApp and press send in WhatsApp.
4. Track completion#
- On the rider page, Assigned training shows the path with the flag in red, the due date and the outcome.
- ReportsthenCorrective training lists every flag-triggered assignment with its outcome: Completed on time, Completed late, Overdue or In progress.
- Select Export CSV on that tab for a file with flag notes, dates, days to finish and reminders sent.
- Unfinished riders get reminders every few days (see reminders).
Riders take the course again#
Corrective training is only complete when the rider passes the quiz of each of its published courses at or after the moment the flag assigned it. Earlier passes don’t count, even if the same course is in onboarding or the rider was flagged before. On the rider’s route the course shows Start again and starts from the beginning, and it doesn’t count as done until it is passed again.
A rider who is flagged again after finishing the corrective training gets it again, and has to redo it again. Their earlier proof of completion stays in their records.
Other paths work differently: courses a rider already passed count toward them. See How assignments are completed.
Flags from your systems#
your operations systems can send the same flag through the API. The rider must already exist in the platform. With notify: true, the rider gets the link automatically (WhatsApp if connected).
